چکیده

Abstract With the rise of research impact as a ‘third’ space (next to and teaching) within universities in United Kingdom beyond, academics are increasingly expected not only produce but also engage brokering knowledge beyond academia. And yet little is known about ways which shape their practices order respond these new forms institutionalised expectations make sense form academic practice. Drawing on 51 qualitative interviews with researchers users involved two large initiatives UK, this study identifies four repertoires co-production practices: (i) Challenge existing policy framework, (ii) Deliberation between diverse stakeholders, (iii) Evidence intervention producing actionable knowledge, (iv) Advocacy for specific evidence-based options. Science-Policy-Practice Interfaces: Emergent knowledge and monarch butterfly conservation

We study how knowledge is produced at the intersection of science, environmental policy and public engagement. Based on analysis of monarch butterfly conservation, we critically evaluate models of knowledge production. The monarch butterfly and its migration have engaged science and enchanted people for over a century, and current threats to monarchs catalyze debates and actions. This paper tra...

A Rationale for Science-Policy Interfaces

This paper aims at a better understanding of the justifications for science-policy interfaces, of the reasons for their growing importance in environmental governance, and of the theoretical and epistemological challenges they pose. We look at the intersections between science and policy to highlight that science and policy, far from being mutually exclusive and hermetic categories, are interse...
